Phivos Mavropoulos completed his studies in Physics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1994. He received an MSc degree in Condensed Matter Physics and a PhD degree in Physics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2000. He was employed at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany, until 2017. In 2018 he was appointed Professor at the Department of Physics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
His research interests include electronic structure and transport properties of materials with emphasis on magnetism and spintronics.
