5TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INTERDISCIPLINARITY IN EDUCATION  ICIE’10:  NEW HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS,  June 17‐19, 2010, TALLINN, ESTONIA

 GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT ICIE’10
It started in Athens, as one activity of the ESTIA‐Net Thematic Network, and has been established as an annual event. The 5th International Conference on Interdisciplinarity in Education ICIE’10 continues the initiative of dissemination of innovations that improve the Engineering‐Computers‐Science higher education. ICIE is a major annual international conference devoted to improvements in education. It is an ideal forum for sharing ideas, learning about new developments in education, and interacting with colleagues worldwide.
Engineering, computers and science education faces significant challenges in crossing international, cultural, and social borders and we need to expand the pool of young students entering higher education and prepare our graduates to be successful in the global economy with diverse groups of people. Successfully addressing these issues will require innovative solutions including use of new pedagogical methods and programmes that improve student learning, partnerships among academia, industry, government, educators and curricula reform. In June 2010, in the city of Tallinn, the ICIE’10 is especially interested in research articles that address issues related to how higher education can promote the excellence of women in professions of Engineering‐Computers‐Sciences and recognize the key role to be played by Europe in support of new generation of women scientists.  The ICIE technical program will include paper presentations, special sessions, and workshops. Solicited are full papers and reports from works‐in‐progress in emerging new disciplines. Proposals also are invited for special sessions and workshops. (official site:  http://www.estiatn.net
