The goal of this project is to develop innovative and advanced remote electronic services for medical support that will facilitate the effective treatment monitoring and the relapse prevention in patients with psychotic disorders (i.e., bipolar disorder and schizophrenia). The proposed project will develop a novel system, which will offer the following technologies: 1) long-term continuous recordings of biometric indexes through simple wearable sensors (i.e., smartwatches and activity trackers), 2) a portable device (tablet) that will be installed in the patient’s residence, which will automatically and on a daily basis collect the recorded biosignals and optionally will record short-term audio-visual videos of the patient while communicating with the tablet, and 3) automatic and systematic storing of these data in a central Cloud server, followed by their intelligent processing in order to detect changes and patterns that will facilitate the prediction of clinical symptoms and side effects of the patient’s medication.
