I received my PhD from Catholic University of Leuven. I am serving as an Assistant Professor at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Department of Sports Sciences). Previously, I was serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology at Bilkent University, and before that at the respective departments at TED University and Hacettepe University.

In my research I mainly focus on motivation in various achievement and applied settings, such as education, sport, and family. I am particularly interested in examining how the social context and personal characteristics determine people’s motivation and in turn their functioning and well-being.
