  Education

  He is a graduate of the Arkakeio Pedagogical Academy of Patras and the Pedagogical Department of Primary Education of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. From the Department of Theology of the Faculty of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki he received a Bachelor degree, (MSc) and Ph.D.

  From Durham University in the United Kingdom, he received a Master's degree in International Relations entitled: "Conflict Prevention Sustainable Peace and Security". In the United Kingdom he successfully completed programs at  University of Oxford and University of Cambridge.  
  
  In the United States of America, he successfully completed program at Georgetown University - School of Foreign Service and two programs at Harvard University - Kennedy School (Leadership for the 21^st Century: Chaos, Conflict, and Courage), (Artificial Intelligence: Exploring Policy, Technology, and Governance).

  Experience

  Following his military service with the Greek Air Force, he worked as an executive for a private company in Patras, Greece (1990-92).

  He was admitted as a novice monk at the Monastery of Simonos Petras in Mount Athos, Greece, in 1993, where he became high-ranked monk in 1996, and remained there until 2000. He renovated and settled in the Holy Hut of Saint Athanasios Athonite at the Holy Cloister of Annunciation, affiliated with the Holy Monastery of Xenophontos at  Mount Athos, Greece, in 2000. He served thrice as the Holy Hut law official and trustee from 2001 to 2013.

  He is a Clergyman of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, and a teacher under the Ministry of Education of Greece.

  During 2011-12, he was seconded for a year to the Holy Archdiocese of Thyatira and Great Britain.

  2015 – 2019: Teaching Staff at the Supreme Ecclesiastical Academy of Athens.

  2018 - 2019: Special Teaching Staff at the Supreme Ecclesiastical Academy of Athens, Ph.D. Theology.

  Σπουδές

  Ο Αρχιμ. Αρίσταρχος Γκρέκας είναι πτυχιούχος της Αρσακείου Παιδαγωγικής Ακαδημίας Πατρών και του Παιδαγωγικού Τμήματος Δημοτικής Εκπαίδευσης του Εθνικού Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Από το Τμήμα Θεολογίας της Θεολογικής Σχολής του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης έλαβε με άριστα, Πτυχίο, Μεταπτυχιακό (MSc) και Διδακτορικό.

  Στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο έλαβε  Μεταπτυχιακό (MSc), στο αντικείμενο των Διεθνών Σχέσεων και Κυβερνητικής από το Durham University, με τίτλο: ''Πρόληψη Συγκρούσεων Βιώσιμη Ειρήνη και Ασφάλεια''. Επίσης ολοκλήρωσε επιτυχώς προγράμματα στο University of Oxford και στο University of Cambridge.  
  Έρευνα ενός έτους, ως υποψήφιος διδάκτωρ του Τμήματος Θεολογίας του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης, στην Θεολογική Σχολή του Durham University του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, στο πλαίσιο του Ευρωπαϊκού προγράμματος ΙΚΥ - Erasmus.

  ΕΠΑΓΓΕΛΜΑΤΙΚΗ ΕΜΠΕΙΡΙΑ

  1993 - 2000: Δόκιμος  μοναχός, κουρά σε μεγαλόσχημο Μοναχό, στην Ιερά Μονή Σίμωνος Πέτρας, Αγίου Όρους.

  2000 -  2014: Εγκατάσταση στην Ιερά Σκήτη Ευαγγελισμού της Θεοτόκου, της Ιεράς Μονής Ξενοφώντος, Αγίου Όρους. Ως Γέροντας  της Ιεράς Καλύβης Αγίου Αθανασίου Αθωνίτου διετέλεσε Δικαίος της Σκητιωτικής Συνάξεως κατά τα έτη 2001 -2002, 2006-2007, 2013-2014 και επίτροπος τα λοιπά έτη. Μέριμνα για τα κοινά και την αναστήλωση της Ι. Καλύβης Αγίου Αθανασίου Αθωνίτου ως και του Κυριακού Ναού του Ευαγγελισμού της Θεοτόκου της ομώνυμης Σκήτης.

  2008: Χειροτονία σε διάκονο, ιερέα και απονομή του οφφικίου του Αρχιμανδρίτου από τον Σεβασμιώτατο Μητροπολίτη Μονεμβασίας και Σπάρτης κ.Ευστάθιο. Από 2008-2011, 2012-2014, ως κληρικός της Ιεράς Μητροπολίτης Μονεμβασίας και Σπάρτης ανέπτυξε ποιμαντικό και κηρυγματικό έργο.

  2011 - 2012: Απόσπαση με απόφαση της Ιεράς Συνόδου της Εκκλησίας της Ελλάδος  για ένα έτος στην Ιερά Αρχιεπισκοπή Θυατείρων και Μ. Βρετανίας.

              Από το 2014 κληρικός της Ιεράς Αρχιεπισκοπής Αθηνών, εφημέριος στον Ιερό Ναό Τιμίου Σταυρού Χολαργού και πρόεδρος του ενοριακού φιλόπτωχου ταμείου του ομώνυμου ναού με τις ανάλογες φιλανθρωπικές δραστηριότητες.

  2008: Μόνιμος διορισμός  στην  πρωτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση με ΦΕΚ διορισμού: 774/τΓ’/20-08-2008.

  2018: Δεκαετής προϋπηρεσία στην πρωτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση.

  Φεβρουάριο 2018: Μετάταξη από την πρωτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση ως Ε.ΔΙ.Π στην Ανώτατη Εκκλησιαστική Ακαδημία Αθηνών που δημοσιεύθηκε στο ΦΕΚ 180/τΓ’/22-02-2018.

  Φεβρουάριο 2018  -  Μάιο 2019:  Ε.ΔΙ.Π  στην Ανώτατη Εκκλησιαστική Ακαδημία Αθηνών.

  Μάιο - Ιούνιο 2019: Επίκουρος καθηγητής στο τμήμα Θεολογίας της Θεολογικής σχολής του ΕΚΠΑ, που δημοσιεύθηκε στο ΦΕΚ Γ 897 - 30.05.2019.

• Μάρτιο - Απρίλιο 2024: Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής στο Τμήμα Θεολογίας της Θεολογικής Σχολής του ΕΚΠΑ, που δημοσιεύθηκε στο ΦΕΚ Γ 975 - 26.03.2024.

• Από τον Μάρτιο 2021, είναι Διευθυντής του Εργαστηρίου με την επωνυμία: «Εκκλησία και Πολιτισμός. Η πατερική σκέψη για τη σχέση εκκλησιαστικής παράδοσης και πολιτιστικών προκλήσεων ως παραγόντων ειρηνικής συνύπαρξης και συνοχής», του Τμήματος Θεολογίας της Θεολογικής Σχολής του ΕΚΠΑ.

• Διδασκαλία σε σχολές των Eνόπλων Δυνάμεων και των Σωμάτων Ασφαλείας, του ΝΑΤΟ και του ΟΗΕ.

  Έχει εκδώσει δεκατρία βιβλία του και έχει δημοσιεύσει άρθρα σε περιοδικά, στην ελληνική και αγγλική γλώσσα, με θεολογικό περιεχόμενο[3], στις διεθνείς σχέσεις και την τεχνητή νοημοσύνη. Έχει οργανώσει και συμμετάσχει ως εισηγητής σε διεθνή συνέδρια και ημερίδες.

   Υποτροφίες

  Έχει λάβει υποτροφίες από ΙΚΥ - Erasmus και από το Πανεπιστήμιο Georgetown των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών.

• Βραβείο του Ιδρύματος Προαγωγής Δημοσιογραφίας, «Αθανάσιου Γεωργίου Μπότση». Το Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο του Ιδρύματος απένειμε το «Βραβείο Δημοσιογραφίας και Τεχνολογίας, Γιώργος Καραγιάννης» με χορηγό το Ευρωπαϊκό Ινστιτούτο Επικοινωνίας (ECI), για το ερευνητικό του έργο στους τομείς της Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης και Ανθρωπισμού, 20/05/2024.
