Dr. Diakakis is an Assistant Professor of Extreme Events and Natural Hazards, backed by a robust academic background and applied research experience.

With a focus on geo-environmental studies, Dr. Diakakis has served as a natural hazards expert across various national and international projects. Notably, consulting engagements include collaborations with esteemed institutions such as the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, the National Technical University of Athens, and the Agricultural University of Athens, as well as organizations like the Bank of Greece, The Green Fund and others.

Dr. Diakakis boasts an extensive publication record, with over 100 research papers and reports, including 50 in prestigious international peer-reviewed scientific journals. These contributions span a diverse array of risk- and environment-related topics.

Operating in a multinational context, Dr. Diakakis has seamlessly integrated academic and business environments. Teaching experience encompasses a range of courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, specializing in Geoenvironment, Natural Hazards, and GIS.
