Dimitrios Filippou, General Surgeon

   

           

            Dr. Dimitrios Filippou was born in Athens in 1970.  He studied Medicine at the Medical School of the University of Athens, from which he graduated in 1995. He completed his Ph.D. thesis in 2002 and received the title of Ph.D. of the Medical School of the University of Athens with a degree "Excellent".

            He received the title of General Surgery in 2006. He has been trained and retrained in various centers in Greece, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and Served as Director at the Hospital "Agios Dionysios" in Aegina, and the Clinic "New Athens – Eurotherapy".

            He has taught at various schools of the EKPA and since 2019 that he elected assistant Professor of Anatomy and Surgical Anatomy at the Medical School of the NKUA, is teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy. He was recently selected and appointed President of the National Medicines Agency (NTH). He is also Chairman of the Committee for the Negotiation of Drug Prices and Executive Member of the KESY.

He presents important scientific, authorial and research work. He has participated in many research projects. He has numerous scientific publications in reputable International and Greek journals and a significant number of papers in Greek and International Medical Conferences. He has also participated in the translation and editing of many medical books, which are taught in Universities across the country in Medical Schools and other Departments of Health Sciences. He has published books in English with the participation of internationally renowned authors, doctors and researchers, which are published abroad, while he has also participated in the writing of international publications. Finally, he has contributed to the publication of many newsletters for the general public.
