Despoina Michalaga is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Theology of the Theological School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. She was born in Athens, has Bachelor Degree in Theology and Archaeology - History of Arts of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and has a PhD in Theology on the Ecclesiastical History of Venetian occupation in Greece. She conducts archival research on ecclesiastical issues and history in Greece, Venice and Constantinople, publishes historical studies based on archival sources and teaches the ecclesiastical history from the 15^th century to this day.
