Bio-note

Evangelos D. Protopapadakis is a Professor of Applied Ethics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He also serves as the Director of the NKUA Applied Philosophy Research Laboratory, President of the Research Ethics and Deontology Committee at the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos,” and a member of the Hellenic National Commission for Bioethics and Technoethics. Additionally, he is the Head of the Greek Unit of the International Chair in Bioethics (WMA Cooperation Center), Director of the MA Program in Animal Welfare, Ethics, and the Law, and a member of both the Pan-Orthodox Committee of Bioethics of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople and the Greek National Authority of Assisted Reproduction. Professor Protopapadakis has authored four books in Greek and two in English, and has edited or co-edited 12 collective volumes—five in English, one in Serbian, and six in Greek. He has also published over 100 papers in domestic and international academic journals and volumes. A member of several domestic and international philosophical societies, he is the Editor-in-Chief of Conatus – Journal of Philosophy.
