Efthimios S. Skordas was born in Lefkada Greece in 1960. He got his degree in Mathematics from the University of Crete in 1984 and his Doctorate from the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Uppsala University, Sweden in 1992. He worked as Researcher in the Solid Earth Physics Institute and was elected Lecturer in the Section of Solid State Physics in 2007.

At present, he serves as Associate Professor of Experimental Solid State Physics in the same Section of the Physics Department. As in early 2023, he has authored 2 monographs, more than 120 peer-reviewed scientific publications, contributed 50 communications to conferences, leading to an h-index greater than or equal to 32 (Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science)
