The content of the course includes the study, analysis and interpretation of the Liturgical Types, which were formed from the very first Christian centuries and are compositions of the local traditions mainly of the East, but also of the Christian West. In addition, within the course, we analyze the most important stages in the evolution of the asmatic (parish) and monastic liturgy up to the fall of Constantinople, as well as the content and special characteristics of the two types of worship, which ultimately led to the formation of the modern liturgy act of the Orthodox Church. The purpose of the course is for postgraduate students to get to know an important part of our liturgical tradition and to understand how liturgical types help to ascertain and clarify the liturgical evolution of the local Churches, but also their interactions within the context of the unity of the Orthodox faith.
