George Latsas graduated from the Department of Physics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) in 1998 and from the MSc in Radioelectrology and Electronics from NKUA in 2001. He received his PhD degree from the Department of Physics of NKUA in 2006.

He has worked for the Department of Physics of NKUA as an employee of laboratory applications (2007-2014), and as laboratory teaching staff (2014-2022) and he is currently an Assistant Professor (since 2022). He has also worked as an hourly paid Lecturer or as a Lecturer P.D. 407/80 in the Hellenic Army Academy (2006-2011).

His research interests include the study of Physics and applications of modern electronic devices, with focus on the microwave frequencies (high-power microwave tubes and amplifiers, gyrotrons, etc.) by means of numerical methods and development of appropriate computational and simulation tools. He has also been engaged in the development of computational tools and numerical codes for the study of optical devices and waveguides, as well as the development of numerical codes for the study of telecommunication systems and links.
