Introduction

I specialized in habitat mapping, design, engineering and laying of submarine cables, pipelines and Oil and Gas worldwide. Among others, I worked in Iraq (2010), UAE (2010), Gabon (2011), Guatemala (2012), Equatorial Guinea (2015), Bermuda, Libya (2011 and 2014), Canada, Congo (2015-2016), Senegal (2018), Nigeria, Mexico, Netherlands etc. From 2013 to 2017, I resided in the UK (Aberdeen) and Italy (Bologna). From 2015 onwards my carreed developed in the financial and technical management of projects related to Oil and Gas, telecoms and power cable studies and installation requirements, including permitting constraints, especially in Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Jordan and Israel.

From 2020, I hold and academic position at the National and Kapodistrian Universtiy of Athens, starting from an assistant professor position at the field of Cartography and Geography of Energy reserves in the Eastern Mediterranean at the Department of Turkish and Modern Asian Studies. My courses and research activities evolve around the applications of GIS in geopolitical studies and multicriteria decision making processes. My research interests include the construction of databases regarding the energy infrastructure at the Eastern Mediterranean, the interconnection of energy with geopolitical challenges and conflict risk analyses at the geographical complex of the region, in conjunction with the determination of degrees of freedom of the Eastern Mediterranean complex subsystem, especially with respect to International Law, economic development and suprasystemic strategies (Green Deal, IMEC, BRI).
