Charalampos is an Associate Professor of Economic Geology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment.
He holds a degree in Geology and a Ph.D. from the same department. 
 
His research interests encompass the exploration and evaluation of mineral raw materials, critical and strategic raw materials, innovative and environmental applications of raw materials and industrial by-products, and methods for environmental assessment and remediation. He has published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed international scientific journals and 25 full papers in refereed international conference proceedings, in addition to numerous abstracts. His research focuses on Economic Geology, with an emphasis on Industrial Minerals, Mineralogy, and Applied Geochemistry. A significant number of his recent works addresses issues related to the circular economy, sustainable development, and the recovery of critical metals.

Charalampos has extensive laboratory experience in various Labs (University of Athens, Institute of Geological and Mining Research, GR, NCSR DIMOKRITOS GR,, University of Leicester, UK, UC Berkeley, USA). 

He has taught nine undergraduate and three graduate courses in the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment. He has supervised more than fifteen bachelor's dissertations and two master's theses. 
 
He has been a member of the organizational and scientific committees of many international scientific conferences.
