I have conducted research and published widely on: earthquake source properties; propagation of seismic waves; dynamic properties of the Earth structure; surface wave dispersion; seismic anisotropy; seismotectonics and active deformation of the crust; volcanic seismology; statistical seismology; seismotectonics; development of temporary and permanent seismological and accelerometric networks; microzonation and soil characterization; seismic hazard analysis; seismic vulnerability and risk mitigation; development of seismic damage scenarios; seismic investigation of cultural heritage monuments. I have published numerous original scientific papers in international journals (23), proceedings of international conferences (23) and technical reports for Greek and foreign agencies. I have worked and consulted with several international institutes. I have participated in 35 international conferences, meetings and have attended international seminars, lectures and courses.
