Associate Professor Dr. Georgios A. Kougioumtzis

Dr. Georgios A. Kougioumtzis is an Associate Professor of Counseling, ICT, and Teaching Methodology at the Department of Turkish and Modern Asian Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds a PhD in Pedagogy, Didactics, and Counseling Guidance – Teacher Mentoring (Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology / NKUA). He has also taught as a Visiting Professor in undergraduate and postgraduate specialization programs in the field of Counseling Psychology in Greece and Cyprus.He has served as an Education Counselor for Philology teachers at the Ministry of Education in Athens, and has collaborated as a scientific expert / evaluator in numerous programs of the Ministry of Education. He has contributed over 200 publications to the scientific literature (indicatively in Open Access journals such as: Frontiers in Psychology, Frontiers in Education, Psychology, Healthcare, Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, Applied Neuropsychology: Child, Neuroscience Insights, Children, Medicina, Journal of Psychology & Clinical Psychiatry, Journal of Intelligence, Neurology and Neuroscience, European Psychiatry, Diagnostics, Brain Sciences, Dual Diagnosis Open Access, Journal of Education and Research, Behavioral Sciences, Psychology: the Journal of the Hellenic Psychological Society, Polski merkuriusz lekarski: organ Polskiego Towarzystwa Lekarskiego). Finally, he has edited and co-authored 12 books in the fields of Counseling & Educational Psychology and Teaching Methodology & ICT in Greece and the USA. His research interests and academic work focus on Educational and Counseling Psychology, Specific Learning Disabilities (Dyslexia), Teaching Methodology, and ICT. He is married and the father of three daughters.
