Biosketch

Panos Macheras is Emeritus Professor (obligatory retirement, 2014), Department of Pharmacy, University of Athens, Athens, Greece. 

B. Pharm. (1970), Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (1977), National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He also received a Ph.D. degree (1981) in Biopharmaceutics-Pharmacokinetics from King's College, University of London, U.K. Published more than 180 journal articles (6665 citations, h=40) and eight books in Biopharmaceutics-Pharmacokinetics. Research: experimental, theoretical and computational studies on dissolution, release, GI absorption, protein binding, drug-cyclodextrins interaction, bioequivalence, biopharmaceutic classification of drugs, pharmacokinetics, fractal and fractional kinetics, population pharmacokinetics and nonlinear dynamics.

Editorial Board member: Pharmaceutical Research, International Journal of Pharmaceutics and European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
