Maria Tombrou-Tzella is Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, Department of Physics, Section of Environmental Physics-Meteorology. She graduated from the University of Athens in 1979 in Physics. She then continued her post-graduate studies at the University of Lancaster (England) where she obtained a PhD in the field of Atmospheric Physics (1983), being funded by a NATO scholarship.
