Olga Arvaniti is Assistant Professor at the Department of Agricultural Development, Agrofood and Management of Natural Resources, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (N.K.U.A.), in the subject “Environmental Analysis”.
BSc in Chemistry (2007), Department of Chemistry, N.K.U.A., MSc in “Chemical Analysis – Quality Control” (2010), Department of Chemistry, N.K.U.A., PhD in Environmental Science (2014), Department of Environment, University of the Aegean.
Research interests: development and validation of analytical methods for the determination of different organic pollutants in several environmental matrices, fate and behavior of emerging contaminants in biological treatment processes, fate and occurrence of microplastics in wastewater treatment plants, advanced oxidation processes, application of physicochemical wastewater treatment processes, risk assessment of emerging contaminants to the aquatic environment, recovery of natural antioxidants (phenols) from agro-industrial wastewaters.
So far, she has published one PhD dissertation, 33 publications in ISI international peer-reviewed journals (according to Scopus, 05.2023: citations 1,183; h-index 12), and 30 announcements in international conference proceedings. She has participated in 10 National and International Research projects, and is Collaborative Academic Staff of the Hellenic Open University, in the Graduate Program “Waste Management”. She has also worked in the preparation and complication of research proposals.
