Andreas Polydoros short biography

Andreas Polydoros, Ph.D., was educated at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece (Diploma, EE, 1977), the State University of New York at Buffalo, (Master’s, EE, 1979) and the University of Southern California (USC), (Ph.D., EE, 1982). He was a faculty member at USC during 1982-1997, a Professor since 1992. He became Fellow of the IEEE in 1995 for “contributions to spread-spectrum systems and networks”. Also, in 1995 he was elected Professor in the Division of Applied Physics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and served during 1997-2021. He directed the Electronics Laboratory of the Division during 1997-2007. The area of his scientific interests has been statistical communication theory (algorithms and performance analysis), digital mobile radio links and networks, detection-estimation-classification in uncertain environments as well as flexible, cognitive, and cooperative radio concepts. He co-founded TrellisWare Technologies in San Diego, CA, in 2000, a company specializing in wireless networking products. He was listed as an ISI Highly Cited Researcher in 2011-14.
