Dr Thomas K. Babalis is Professor of ‘Pedagogy and Lifelong Learning’ at the Department of Pedagogy and Primary Education, at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He teaches courses, such as “School Psycho-Sociology”, “Inclusive Education”, “Classroom Management & Teaching Practice II”, “Scientific Research Methodology", etc. He has served as Chairman of the Department and today he is the Dean of the School of Education and a full member of the University Senate of the NKUA. He is also the Director of the common Transnational Program of Postgraduate Studies (Department of Primary Education, NKUA and the Faculty of Psychology, University of Cyprus) entitled: “School Counseling and Guidance”, which educates professionals in order to serve as students’ counselors on personal, family, educational and occupational issues. He is the chair committee of the Ministry of Education for the assessment of the relevance of postgraduate studies with special education and school psychology. Since 2011 he is the director of the Scientific Supervisory Board of the pilot experimental school “Marasleios”. His research interests concentrate on educational psycho-sociology, vulnerable social groups, theories and models of child’s socialization, communication-interaction, innovation and creativity in education, etc. He has published eight (8) books and more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in edited volumes, etc. He has extensive experience in research and European/international projects, e.g. ETHICSBOARD project (ERASMUS, KA2), HEALING ERASMUS+ project, etc.
