Purpose of the course:
The purpose of the course is to allow students to understand the procedure of the European Economic Integration and its influence on the economic performance of the Member States and on the regional disparities of the regions of Europe.

Course Content:
Theoretical context of the process of the economic integration and the historical conditions at the time the European Communities (EC) were created: stages of economic integration, consequences of the enlargements of the EC , legal and budgetary matters.

The purpose of the course is to analyse modern and classic theories of economic of growth and development, particular the concept of economic development and its basic characteristics, poverty, dualism, development challenges, long term growth trends, indicators as well as empirical methods and models. The course relies on the notion of development for all economies and not just developing ones and then gives an extensive introduction to the economic problems of the less developed countries.
