Vasiliki Lalioti is associate professor of anthropology of performance  in the Department of Music Studies. She studied History and Archaeology in the University of Crete and Social Anthropology in the University of Durham (UK), from which she received her Ph.D. (2002). She has conducted ethnographic research in Athens, Crete, Volos, San Jose (Costa Rica), and her research interests include: performing arts (theatre, music, dance, perfomance art), popular culture, politics of memory, digital technologies, posthumanism.
