I graduated from the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology (major in Psychology) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1992. I conducted my doctoral studies with a scholarship from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation and received my PhD degree in Social Psychology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1998 (graduated with honors). My thesis was on parental perceptions of children's personality.

Between 2000-2004 I worked as a teaching and research scientist in the Department of Psychology, University of Crete, and in the Department of Primary Education, University of Patras. I have been a full member of the teaching staff in the Department of Psychology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 2004, at the positions of Lecturer (2004-2008), Assistant Professor (2009-2015), and Associate Professor (2015-present) of Cross-Cultural Psychology. I teach Cross-Cultural and Social Psychology classes to undergraduate and graduate (Master's) students In the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. I am the supervisor of degree theses, master's theses, and PhD dissertations. Also, I coordinate the Students' Practice Committee of the Department of Psychology.

My current research interests focus on acculturation and intercultural relations, positive adaptation of immigrant youth, perceived discrimination and beliefs about justice, civic engagement and political participation, cross-cultural study of personal and political values, and the cultural processes of behavioral intentions.  

In addition to my teaching and research work, I act as a reviewer for international journals. I am associate editor of Psychology: The Journal of the Hellenic Psychological Society. I have been coordinator of the Social Psychology and Cross-Cultural Psychology sections of the Hellenic Psychological Society between 2007-2015 and 2017-2019, respectively. I have participated in the organizing and scientific committees of Hellenic and international conferences. Also, I am academic advisor of the National Academic Recognition Information Center.
