Biography

Dr. John D. Alexopoulos is an Associate Professor in Applied Geophysics-Engineering & Environmental Geophysics, at the Faculty of Geology & Geoenvironment, Dpt. Geophysics & Geothermics.

He is the Director of Geophysical Laboratory at the Faculty of Geology & Geoenvironment, Dpt. Geophysics & Geothermics since September 2020.

He is the Vice President of the Faculty of Geology & Geoenvironment since September 2022.

He holds a BSc in Geology (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) and a PhD in Geophysics-Environmental Geology.

His main scientific interest is focused in Applied Geophysics - Engineering & Environmental Geophysics and he is specialized in the application of several geophysical techniques for defining the geotechnical, geological, stratigraphical and hydrogeological subsurface status.

He has published more than 115 scientific papers in international journals and proceedings of international conferences. Moreover, he has been participated in more than 85 applied research projects (funded by international and national organizations) and technical reports since 1986. His work has been referenced more than 200 times.

He teaches at undergraduate and graduate classes and more than 50 students fulfilled their diploma thesis under his supervision for the last 20 years.
