Tell Nader & Baqrta Excavation Project

Since 2011 I am the director of the field research of the Faculty of History and Archaeology of the University of Athens in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (ELKE Nr. 10711) in Tell Nader and Tell Baqrta (http://arbela.uoa.gr). Tell Nader is a rather small site (ca. 1 hectare big), which was inhabited from the Late Neolithic (7th mill.) to the early Neo-Assyrian (early 1st mill. BC) period. Tell Baqrta is one of the biggest archaeological sites in the Near East (ca. 95 hectares), bigger even than Ebla.
