Paul Feyerabend deals in Against Method with the pictorial representations in the Hellenic vases and connects epistemologically this pictorial reference to a characteristic type of pervasive mentality in the ancient world specifically the Homeric field.   He has done the same effort with the philologist Eric Dodds in his book The Greeks and the absurd narrating alternative hermeneutics of the ancient world.
