5G-CLARITY: Beyond 5G multi-tenant private networks integrating Cellular, WiFi, and LiFi, Powered by ARtificial Intelligence and Intent Based PolicY

With the imminent roll-out of 5G technology focusing on retail, public 5G networks will not meet industry users’ needs anytime soon. Private networks provide an alternative for early uptake of 5G functionalities in sites like factories, stadiums and transportation hubs. This is where 5G-CLARITY steps in, developing a beyond 5G architecture for private networks. Enhanced communication services will be made possible through a novel access network integrating 5G, Wi-Fi and LiFi technologies among other components.

5G-COMPLETE: A unified network, Computational and stOrage resource Management framework targeting end-to-end Performance optimization for secure 5G muLti-tEchnology and multi-Tenancy Environments

This is an exciting time for 5G, which is expected to deliver higher speeds and support revolutionary new use cases, services and applications to connect people and things. The remarkable evolution of communication infrastructure is driven by cutting-edge research. Building on recent advances in Ethernet fronthauling, the EU-funded 5G-COMPLETE project will combine a series of key technologies under a unique architectural proposition.

5G-VICTORI: VertIcal demos over common large scale field trials for rail, energy and media Industries

The use of 5G solutions in vertical industries for infrastructures is a key target of the EU. However, vertical industries can currently test only small level use cases in the market before making large scale investments. The EU-funded 5G-VICTORI project will run large scale tests for advanced vertical use cases concentrated on energy, transports, media and fast-changing disruptive technologies. The project aims to ameliorate the existing infrastructures through the integration of a range of vertical and cross-vertical actions.

DAYDREAMS: Development of prescriptive AnalYtics baseD on aRtificial intElligence for iAMS

The European railway network includes more than 300 000 km of tracks, widely connecting all cities and towns and representing a key asset in the European transportation ecosystem. Maintenance is essential to ensure safety and sustainability. In this context, the EU-funded Shift2Rail project DAYDREAMS will set a course for the integration and use of data and artificial/human trustworthy intelligence together with a context-driven human machine interface (HMI).
