Laboratory

We have an ultra-high vacuum set up with a variable-temperature scanning tunneling microscope. Atomically clean surfaces can be prepared in situ and be further functionalised with molecules and metal atoms. Self-assembly and on-surface synthesis protocedures can be used for surface nanoarchitectonics. The installation of the instrument was financially supported by the framework of H.F.R.I. Call “Basic Research Financing (Horizontal support of all Sciences)” under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0” funded by the European Union—NextGenerationEU (H.F.R.I. Project Number: 15609).

We further study our surfaces using synchtrotron light radiation facilities (e.g. Diamonod Light Source, MAX IV Laboratory).
