Pantelis C. Kostis is an Assistant Professor of Economic Development in the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), in Greece. He obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. (with distinction) from the Department of Economics of the NKUA. He also completed his post-doctoral research in the Department of Economics of the NKUA. He has taught many courses as an adjunct lecturer of Economics at the same department and the Departments of Business Administration, and Public Administration of the Hellenic Open University. Previously, he was also Visiting Professor at the Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management of the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak in India. He also serves as an instructor in educational distance learning programs at NKUA.He is also teaching in Postgraduate Programmes at the University of Athens and is an instructor in distance learning programmes at the University of Athens.

His research has been published in distinguished international academic journals, including the Technological Forecasting and Social Change, the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Comparative Economics, Economic Modelling, and the Journal of Socio-Economics. He also authorizes several books on economic development and growth and the European and Greek economies published by Palgrave MacMillan, Springer, IGI Global, and IntechOpen. He has also contributed to many Edited Volumes with book chapters and has participated in several international scientific conferences and research programs. His research interests include economic development and growth, economic policy, the role of institutions in the economy, and cultural economics.

He is Editor of the Palgrave MacMillan book series "The Future of the European Economies and Societies". He also serves as Senior Associate Editor of the "Journal of the Knowledge Economy," the "Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship" and the "International Journal of Social Ecology and Sustainable Development" and as Guest Editor for Special Issues of the journals "Sustainability", "Economics", "Frontiers of Behavioral Economics". In the past, he was also Guest Editor in Special Issues in "Sustainability", "Journal of Business Accounting and Finance Perspectives" and "Frontiers in Research Metrics and Analytics".

 

Σύντομο Βιογραφικό

Ο Παντελής X. Κωστής είναι Επίκουρος Καθηγητής Οικονομικής Ανάπτυξης στο Τμήμα Οικονομικών του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (ΕΚΠΑ). Απέκτησε το πτυχίο του, το μεταπτυχιακό του και το διδακτορικό του (με άριστα) στα οικονομικά από το Τμήμα Οικονομικών του ΕΚΠΑ. Έχει επίσης ολοκληρώσει τη μεταδιδακτορική του έρευνα στο Τμήμα Οικονομικών του ΕΚΠΑ. Στο παρελθόν έχει διδάξει διάφορα μαθήματα ως ακαδημαϊκός υπότροφος στο ίδιο Τμήμα, αλλά και ως Συνεργαζόμενο Εκπαιδευτικό Προσωπικό στα Τμήματα Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων και Δημόσιας Διοίκησης του Ελληνικού Ανοιχτού Πανεπιστημίου. Παλαιότερα, υπήρξε επίσης Επισκέπτης Καθηγητής στο Indian Institute of Management Rohtak στην Ινδία. Επίσης, είναι διδάσκων σε Μεταπτυχιακά Προγράμματα του ΕΚΠΑ και εκπαιδευτής σε προγράμματα εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης στο ΕΚΠΑ. 

Η έρευνά του έχει δημοσιευτεί σε διακεκριμένα διεθνή ακαδημαϊκά περιοδικά, συμπεριλαμβανομένου του Technological Forecasting and Social Change, του Journal of Business Research, του Journal of Comparative Economics, του Economic Modelling και του Journal of Socio-Economics. Είναι συγγραφέας πλήθους βιβλίων για την οικονομική ανάπτυξη και μεγέθυνση και την ευρωπαϊκή και την ελληνική οικονομία που έχουν εκδοθεί από τους διεθνείς εκδοτικούς οίκους Palgrave MacMillan, Springer, IGI Global και IntechOpen. Έχει συνεισφέρει επίσης σε πολλούς Συλλογικούς Τόμους με κεφάλαια και έχει συμμετάσχει σε πολλά διεθνή επιστημονικά συνέδρια και σε ερευνητικά προγράμματα. Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα περιλαμβάνουν την οικονομική ανάπτυξη και μεγέθυνση, την οικονομική πολιτική, το ρόλο των θεσμών στην οικονομία και τα συμπεριφορικά οικονομικά. 

Είναι Editor της σειράς βιβλίων "The Future of the European Economies and Societies" της Palgrave MacMillan.
