The purpose of the course is to help students:

• Distinguish and evaluate the importance and contribution of technology in enabling maritime and port enterprises and organizations to 'learn,' 'perceive' situations and events, 'think' abstractly, 'predict' trends and future events, 'plan,' and 'innovate.'
• Understand business intelligence and analytics as a set of analysis methods, technologies, capabilities, and strategies aimed at processing available data and extracting useful information to support business decision-making processes.
