The purpose of the course is to help students:

• Understand databases as a key tool in the field of informatics, with applications across a wide range of business areas.

• Study and develop open-source database management systems (exploring their operation through problem-solving lab exercises).
• Gain practical experience in implementing and organizing basic database schemas focused on business cases in the shipping industry.
