Ι am Assistant Professor of mathematics education in the Department of Mathematics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (since 2016). I have worked as a lecturer at the same Department between 2011 and 2015. Ι received my first degree in Mathematics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1991) and my PhD in Mathematics Education with the use of digital tools from the same University (2005).

My teaching interests include Mathematics Education, Use of Digital Technologies in Mathematics Education, Integration of Digital Technology in Mathematics Teaching and Teaching of Mathematics in Secondary Schools. I have taught several courses in these areas in the undergraduate and graduate programs of the Department of Mathematics (e.g., Inter-university, Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program on “Mathematics Education”).  I have supervised more than 30 master theses in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. I have also supervised or co-supervised 3 doctoral theses at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

My fields of interest include the design of learning environments for mathematics with the use of digital technologies, students’ construction of mathematical meanings with the use of digital tools, connection of mathematics teaching to authentic situations, and mathematics teacher education (levels of prospective teachers, practicing teachers and teacher educators). I have participated in more than twelve STEM related national and European projects and I have more than 50 publications in peered reviewed journals, books, and refereed conference proceedings.
