Zoi Evangelakou
Zoi has completed her undergraduate and master studies in the Faculty of Biology at the NKUA. She is currently conducting her Ph.D. in the MCAC group and under the supervision of Professor Trougakos on the functional involvement of mitochondria homeostasis regulators in aging and age-related diseases. She has excellent experience in Drosophila genetics, Drosophila handling, mitochondria function and cellular and molecular biology techniques. Moreover, she has a good knowledge of biochemistry techniques gained through her 3-month undergraduate internship at the Histology and Embryology Laboratory at the NKUA’s Medical School, while she masters in using Drosophila as a platform for high-throughput screenings of natural products obtained through her participation in EU-funded research projects. Zoi has joined the authorship of research articles, book chapters and presented her research in national or international conferences.
