  • 2024: 1st award for the innovative method Nature4Nature a green method for the protection of the coastal zone from erosion. Archimedes - Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
  • 2023: Award in the "2023 Higher Education Teaching Grant Program" for the educational material on "Sea Level Changes" from the European Geosciences Union (EGU). The goal of this award from the EGU was to develop teaching resources that are freely available to all who teach university-level geosciences. Implementation team: Niki Evelpidou, Giannis Saitis, Evangelos Spyrou, Anna Karkani. According to the EGU, our team's educational material is characterized by remarkable dedication and innovation and enhances the quality and accessibility of geoscience education.
  • 2023: The episode titled "The Planet is Burning" from the series "Disaster Theories" by Antenna Studios, for which I had the scientific responsibility, was recognized as the best in the category Best Green & Environment Film at the Brussels Capital Film Festival.
  • 2023: Gold Award for the documentary "The Planet is Burning" from the series "Disaster Theories" by Antenna Studios, for which I had the scientific responsibility. The award was given on October 28, 2023, in China, among 987 films from 103 countries, as part of the "Handle Climate Change Film Festival."
  • 2023: Third Prize for the documentary "From the Depths of the Earth" from the series "Disaster Theories" by Antenna Studios, for which I had the scientific responsibility. The recognition was part of the 10th Ierapetra International Documentary Festival.
  • 2019: Award by the Academy of Athens for the scientific book in the field of geological sciences entitled “Sea Level Changes”. According to the Academy of Athens, “this is a high-level scientific study which contributes to the knowledge of an important geological event of the recent past”.
  • 2013: Award by the Academy of Athens for work promoting the geological knowledge of Greek region for the paper entitled ‘Evidence of a recent rapid subsidence in the S-E Cyclades (Greece): An effect of the 1956 Amorgos earthquake?’. According to the Academy of Athens, the paper represents a high level of scientific research, which contributes to the knowledge of a significant geological event of the recent past.
  • 2013: Award from the State Scholarship Foundation (IKY) for the economic and administrative management of the Intensive Program “Runoff Erosion” which took place in 2012.
  • 2013: Award for scientific photography from the 2Bparks Committee, in the framework of the homonymous research program
