The RSF Archaeological Trust is pleased to invite students to take a part in our extended deadline sessions which are open till the end of June 2015. We're glad to accept applications for the following projects:

PHILIPPOPOLIS Archaeological Field School 2015

Philippopolis is an ancient city in present-day Bulgaria founded in 6th c. B.C. later named after the Macedonian king Philip the Second. The modern town keeps numerous monuments dated back to the Hellenistic (5th – 4th c. B.C.) and Roman period (1st – 5th c. A.D.) including completely preserved Amphitheatre, attractive fortress and Great Basilica. The students involved will gain comprehensive knowledge on the ancient classical world through intensive field work at one remarkable archaeological site and well-structured program including 20 academic hours theory, 40 hours practicum and two educational trips in the region.

MUSEUM STUDIES 2015 International Summer School

The project aims to introduce you to the basic principles, methodology and marketing of museums as cultural, research & education institutions. It includes extensive theoretical knowledge in all aspects of museum organization, management and communications. Daily practical work will give you a hands-on experience on museum collections, tracing the artifacts from field to exhibition. The individual involvement through in depth research will lead you to final personalized course experience.

East Christian Art | Byzantine Art International Summer University

This is a unique project aiming to reveal the roots, meaning, and cultural impact of the South-Eastern European Christian architecture, painting, music, and manuscripts, from the late Antiquity to the post-Byzantine period. We analyze the importance of the East Christian | Byzantine art and its influences on the origins of Renaissance & other Western arts. In 14 days we will study & acquire practical knowledge of all forms of arts in churches, monasteries, museums, and scientific institutions.
