AbstractThis book came to fruition as a result of my interest and research in the area of integration as well as music education’s role and independence within the educational process and formal classroom.The concepts of integration, interdisciplinarity and other relative terms are explained through the trace of their historical and philosophical roots and uses. The autonomy of music within the umbrella of arts as well as integrative applications between music and other subjects is discussed and issues and problems are highlighted.It was the first book in the Greek language with this subject and was reviewed and presented in the specialized press.The second edition with minor corrections was published in 2008 and the third in 2014.
